Declans Poem: A Flash Of Light

Declan Christenberry

Flash of Light

The book is red, being read by my sister at the time

The light flashed

No noise just a small hum

outside the window there was a bear it was climbing a bare tree

at the time of the light

no sound and no smell just a small hum

as the light flashed a hare’s hair stood on end

but did not get far from the light

a small hum

at the flash of light motion slowed

a deer and his dear child saw the flash of light

and were gone

when a family of foxes preyed on a meal and saw the flash

while a family prayed

the family prayed and nothing more

a huge flash of light and nothing more

nothing more

nothing more

a small hum.
